Ryouta,

On this day meant to commemorate and celebrate the anniversary of your birth, I hope that these words will be sufficient acknowledgment of the importance I hold your birthday to. Selfish as it may be, your presence on Ophiuchus has been reassuring. Although I would much prefer to be passing the day back home, I do at least feel fortunate to be able to directly wish you a happy birthday instead of wondering vaguely how you're getting on back home. I imagine that without you around, I'd find this place to be more difficult to deal with and generally more cheerless as well. It has, however, left me with very little in the way of giving you a proper present. I don't have much to give you in terms of material items, unless you'd like to think of Ashaashi as an early birthday present, in which case I must be all the more gratified that you two have taken so well to each other. If there is anything else of use that I can give to you, please let me know.

[ Akashi has no idea what he's typing anymore, he needs help — ]

I hope that your birthday passes happily, as does the rest of the year to come. I also hope that you haven't already been worn out by others before this message finds you.
