No. [ Now Kagami sounds like he's pouting, but there's an undercurrent of real emotion there. ] Kuroko mentioned it a while ago. We were talking about whether we'd remember anything about this place if we left.

Oh. Yeah. [ His voice gets quiet; it's something he's heard about and isn't really fond of thinking about. ] Everyone says we won't have any clue, huh?

[airwalk]

Yeah. [ Kagami sounds put out about it, but it only takes a few seconds for him to spring back. ] But I don't care. What we do here still matters even if we forget. [ In fact, Kagami springs back a little too much and comes right back around to sounding aggressive. ]

So come over and lean or I'll go make Akashi or someone learn instead.

[ That startles a laugh out of Kise. He's happy enough to leave the somber mood for when they're actually face to face, anyway. ]

Would you really try to make Akashicchi learn? I might wanna see that.

Yes. He's a jerk. I don't feel like feeding him anymore.

Does that mean I'm not a jerk, Kagamicchi?

[ Is that a hint of caring under all that gruffness? ]

You're just aggravating. [ But no, not a jerk. ]

[ Wow, that was almost a compliment, comparatively. ]

So you don't mind feeding me?

[airwalk]

Not as much... [ Wow, he almost sounds shy about admitting it, though he quickly follows up with: ] But you still have to learn!

Fine, fine. [ It's hard to be bothered by Kagami's insistence when that sounded like Kagami was perilously close to talking about feelings. ] I guess I should come over and save you from Akashicchi's wrath, anyway.

[airwalk]

Come over to learn. I don't need to be saved. [ KAgami, of course, is not yet aware that Akashi has acquired a pair of scissors since arriving. ]

Sure. But it's still probably better to teach me than Akashicchi. He really doesn't like being told what to do.

[airwalk]

Then how'd he deal with it when that Nijiwhatever guy was your captain? [ Kagami knows that the change, whatever it had really been, only happened after Akashi was already captain. Still, that sort of thing strikes him as something that doesn't really change over the course of one's life. ]

Nijimura-senpai? [ He tilts his head, thinking back. Perfect senpais don't exist, but then there's Nijimura... ] Akashicchi didn't mind it from him. Besides, Nijimura-senpai once knocked Kurokocchi out with a finger flick.

[airwalk]

--he what? [ Kagami is surprised, but he doesn't exactly sound disbelieving. ] Kuroko never told me that!

Well, maybe not unconscious, but Kurokocchi had to lie down for a while.

[ Clearly Kuroko has been hiding the best gossip and Kise needs to remedy that. ]

[ And now Kagami sounds... kind of excited, actually. ] Hey, did you guys ever go to a hotspring while you were in middle school?

[returnafavor]

We went once for a training camp. Why?

[airwalk]

Did Kuroko still get overheated really easy?

[returnafavor]

[ Now the question makes sense. He grins, perfectly willing to spill the deets. ]

You mean did he almost pass out and drown?

[airwalk]

[ Kagami laughs. ] And then he doesn't feel better until he drinks a Pocari, right?

And lies down for like half an hour. Kurokocchi's really weak to the heat.

[airwalk]

Yeah. He spent most of the time we were there washing Nigou and he still passed out.

That's just like Kurokocchi. [ He sighs, but there's a fond smile on his lips. ] When was this, anyway? I'd have thought with everything your coach makes you do, he'd have gotten a little more stamina.
